Rear View Monitor
The monitor is a slim 3.5-inch color TFT LCD screen. The resolution is 510×492, which is respectable and delivers decent video quality. This rear view camera’s major claim to fame is that it is a wireless unit. There is no hard wiring between the camera and monitor, although both components still need a power source. This makes the installation easier but the downfall of this (like all wireless systems) is interference and a reduction in video quality. The back of the screen also has a RCA connector so any addional component with an RCA connector can be installed. This unit has auto reverse power enabled so the moment the vehicle is in reverse the screen will switch on.
The camera sits in a waterproof license plate mount, which makes for easy installation. No extra holes need to be drilled to mount the camera, you will be using the current holes for your plate. The camera has a CMOS image sensor, which does not deliver stellar image quality but is still descend. The angle of view is around a 170 deg, which is very wide. The camera is also night vision capable with night LED lights to help you reverse in a dark environment.
Wiring and installation
The 2.4 GHz wireless system eliminates most wiring except for the power which is 12V.
